Neighborhood volunteers assist the elderly with some of their needs. Transportation is by far the most often asked for assistance. Our volunteers assist with many requests such as some household chores, friendly visiting, shopping assistance and caregiver respite.
At Home will assist the elderly to find other resources in the community to meet their needs such as LifeLine, Meals on Wheels, and Adult Day Care. We are currently providing Caregiver Supportive Services which is designed to assist those who are caring for people with dementia.
We currently have over three hundred seniors register with our program. In 208, we had 38 volunteers who assisted with over 1150 hours of service which included 652 rides, 106 hours of visiting, and 163 hours of yard assistance. At Home has provided 773 hours of home health care and three Arthritis health education classes, free of charge to the general community.
